The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is not only a key player in the region, it plays an important role in stabilizing the global economy. To inform and deliver the G20 2020 Agenda, the Kingdom will engage widely with relevant stakeholders to address some of the most pressing global challenges.
Domestically, the country is undergoing socioeconomic reforms under Vision 2030, which launched in 2016 and closely aligns with the core G20 objectives of macroeconomic stability, sustainable development,women empowerment, enhanced human capital, and increased flow of trade and investment.
Vision 2030 details the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s long-term goals and expectations, and is built upon the country’s unique strengths and capabilities. The ground-breaking agenda has three pillars – to foster a vibrant society; develop a thriving economy; and propel an ambitious nation.
The timing of the Saudi Arabia G20 2020 Presidency offers a unique moment for the world and the Kingdom. We are in our third year of implementing the reform plan of Vision 2030 and can share both success stories, as well as, lessons learned. Additionally, given the current socioeconomic changes taking place, we are in a prime position to also welcome member’s experiences in these relevant areas.
